L.E.A.N. Living - the keys to a healthier life!

L.E.A.N. Living: the keys to a healthier life. Read now or Pin for later. - Health Happens at Home

L.E.A.N. is an acronym representing four pillars of health:

  • L. is our lifestyle: how we live
  • E is exercise: how we move
  • A is attitude: how we think
  • N is nutrition: how we eat.

L.E.A.N. is a balanced approach to wellness. There are no depriving diets or bootcamps. Instead, small changes in each area lead to improved health, increased energy, reduced stress, and better weight control over your lifetime. L.E.A.N. is not about being skinny or "shedding fat" but about improving your health at any size and progressing toward the correct amount of body fat for your body type.

Lifestyle is all about finding ways to live life in promotion of your health and limiting or minimizing activities that are detrimental to your health. Make choices toward success at nutritious eating. Spend time with people you love. Laugh often. Reduce stress. Serve others.

Exercise is simply moving your body. Physical movement of our bodies has numerous health benefits. Exercise is not just for weight loss. Physical activity helps our minds focus better. Our blood vessels release nitric oxide, naturally improving cardiovascular health. Movement also releases mood improving hormones.

Attitude is all about our thoughts and how they affect our actions. A positive thought life translates into a better mental state, reduced stress, and a healthier life.

Nutrition is what we eat, learning to mindfully eat with appropriate portions of varied, healthful food to nourish our bodies allowing it to function optimally.
